Vaanam Kottattum is honestly the most Mani Ratnam-esque story after a long time. The direction of Dhana was almost up to the usual standards of how Mani Ratnam himself visualizes his vision, great debut.
Great characters with depth and insights. Accordingly the cast's performance was good. Especially Nandha was a surprise. Only a clearer goal for the protagonist was missing.
The music is an expected minor. But I was positively surprised considering it's Sid Sriram's first composition. A lot of repetition and the timing was completely off, but the songs on their own were nice.
Overall it exceeded my personal expectations - 7.0/10
